Awards

In 2020 we first sent two samples of our Kaore 3 to London for the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).
We are very proud and pleased that we were then given a gold medal by the judges for our Kaore.
This spirit is made of 100% malted grain and obtained 96 out of 100 points. It was praised by the international judging panel:

"A deeply engaging nose of ripe pineapple and tropical fruits, with rounded vanilla oak spice and hints of apple. Complexity on the palate, delivering multiple layers with elegance and precision. A beautiful balanced journey, showcasing the exceptional cask characteristics".

In 2023 we submitted our Kaore 2 to the IWSC. This product also won a prize and achieved
a score of 88 out of 100, good for a bronze medal. medal.

The judges’ comments were:
“Barley cereal, cedar, and honey nose. A juicy, spicy and complex finish with stewed fruit”.
This was another Dutch gin with a 100% grain base, in this case matured for 6 months on an Oloroso sherry cask.

And this year, 2024, our Kaore Madeira Cask Matured (Kaore MCM) was in line to be considered by the judges. This resulted in 93 out of 100 points and a silver medal. Very special!
A true grain-based spirit which has matured for 2 years on Madeira casks.
We were again given a judges’ report which clearly outlines the quality of the product:

“Lightly golden in colour with aromas of malt, linseed and juniper. The oak is quite mellow, so the experience is still fresh and lively, with a lasting finish”.

This is what we had envisioned in 2017 when we started the distillery: the artisinal creation of tasteful products. The Kaore 3 is a good example of this. This spirit is the result of a distillate consisting of 100% grain (65% barley and 35% rye) which has matured for months in a Moscatel-sherry cask.
We are very pleased with this recognition. We see it as an encouragement to continue with our endeavours and to strive to high-quality and tasty products.
As you know, Mwórveld distillery does not aim for mass production, but rather for carefully distilled, slowly matured and therefore refined products.
